OK, so the hotel building itself is spectacular. You arrive across the Giudecca canal to see this 18th century convent, with a huge dome - it's all pretty impressive. And it's got a garden outside to sit in, in Venice, which is obviously a rarity. However, after this things start to go wrong. The restaurant in the hotel is very... more
Stayed here for a weekend with my Wife, our first visit to Venice together. The hotel is on the quayside on La Giudecca, literally opposite the mouth of the Grand Canal and San Marco. The airport is on the other side of Venice to the hotel, so our tip would be arrange for a water-taxi from Marco Polo Airport as... more
Amazing place. You feel as if you are walking into a remnant of the past. The desk staff are the most courteous, caring and helpful people I have come across in my world travels. NOTHING was too much. Arriving late of an evening we were upgraded to a suite, which was amazing. Dressing area, small lounge and marble bathroom. The... more
I simply can not put into words how divine this little sanctuary of peace and relaxation is ! The decor is perfect and the staff unobtrusive but attentive in every way. Food was great and water shuttle a lovely little perk. Will look forward to returning to my new found little oasis. more
My husband and I stayed in this superb hotel for a week. The rooms were luxurious and the hotel very quiet and peaceful. The gardens were beautiful, the staff welcoming, helpful and attentive. The shuttle boat was always available within minutes and we had a wonderful, relaxing time. Some of the reviews we read before we went said to avoid... more

We paid for a double and got stuck in a pokey back-room with little space and a view of an internal shaft to delight us. The hotel staff were polite and mannerly, but the prices for room-service were the most outrageous rip-offs I have ever experienced. We moved to another hotel after two days, our experience ruined for those. Perhaps... more
I absolutely adored the Bauer Palladio! Me and my boyfriend stayed here for 3 nights celebrating our anniversary and our whole experience was faultless! Although we did not eat at the hotel restaurant, the breakfast was lovely and it was literally eat as much as you want! One thing I would advise anyone staying here is not to bother with... more
If you have booked to stay in the hotel during your visit to Venice you will not be disappointed. This hotel is in a perfect position overlooking the Grand Canal. It is away from the hustle and bustle of the main land reached by a short trip via water bus or free hotel shuttle boat. I notice several comments about... more
