Just returned from my works Xmas party the Whitewater and really enjoyed our stay. The reception staff were very pleasant and nothing was too much trouble for any of them. We got a really nice spacious room overlooking the river. The room was clean, warm and more than sufficient for our needs. Nice mini bar too. Didn't use any of... more

My family and I visited the Whitewater Hotel, near Newby Bridge over Hallowe'en 08. We stayed there for 5 nites bed, breakfast & evening meal and had a great time touring the Lake District. The hotel reception & decor is a bit shabby, however our family bedroom was a good size and well enough equipped . We had booked this... more

My partner and I decided to book the spa weekend package for our first years anniversary of being together, and it was really really good. Arrived Friday evening, the man on the check in desk was very friendly and helpfull, we went to our room to unpack and the room was a nice size, nice enough decor, and very clean.... more

We booked a family room for £170 at this hotel to get half term off to a good start as we were going to South Lakes Animal Park & it seemed a good base. The first thing we noticed at this hotel was the horrible greasy fried food smell, so we immediately decided not to try the menu! The receptionist... more

This hotel is a firm favourite with myself and my husband. We came across the hotel by chance and have visited a total of 4 times: Feb 04, Dec 07, May 08, and we married there in July 08, with 50 guests who came with us for the weekend. We consider ourselves reasonably well travelled and have visited some amazing... more

I was married at the Whitewater Hotel in August, and although at the time I was happy, the comments I got back from family members and friends were quite shocking. I have been in touch with management and haven't even had a response, for this I feel I should make other people aware before you stay there. In the planning... more

We stayed here for a special birthday .The initial view of the hotel is very scenic nestling beside a quiet bridge adjacent to river .Good carparking, hotel reception lets it down a little, carpet is looking worn but the staff are very friendly. the layout of the building is confusing initially lots of stairs but the linking indoor bridge to... more

We stayed at this hotel for two nights - we were pleased overall although I have to say that our room was disappointingly small. The photos posted on the hotel's main website unfortunately gives the wrong impression of a standard double room if ours was anything to go by. It was so undersized that the wardrobe door wouldn't fully open... more

Stayed over for 2 days in April 2008. Not a pleasant experience and very expensive for the small room (£125 b b). You could not swing a cat in the room. small and dingy with a noisy , busy and dangerous road nearby.(fatality that weekend). No maid service on the sunday ( they forgot). When pointed out no maids available... more
