My first room was next to the kitchen and there was a continual 'buzzing' noise - I asked to be relocated and was given a room on the 1st floor. The rooms are basic, a bed, small desk, tv and fridge. Fortunately the room came with a ceiling fan, there are also stand-alone air-con units The free breakfast is quite... more

Lovely location in leafy Kirribilli, just metres from Kirribilli House and Admiralty House. Ferry wharf just 2 minutes walk, ferry ride just 7 minutes to Circular Quay. Ferries half-hourly, however last ferry home is 11.40pm-ish, taxi from Circular Quay is over $20. The included buffet breakfast is very very good, fresh toast, cereals, the bacon not too salty, eggs just... more

We have been staying at and sending students to stay at the Glenferrie lodge for quite a few years now. We love the place. It is really quite difficult to beat. Sure its not the four seasons but it makes up for that in so many ways. Go expecting basic, clean facilities and a warm welcome and you won't be... more

I stayed at Glenferrie Lodge for 3 nights while attending a course in Sydney. I picked it for the price and accessibility - both to the city and to my course in St Leonards. It was easy to find from the train line - about a 10 minute slow walk. Checkin was fast. My room was basic (in line with... more

I traveled solo on this trip and opted for a budget single. Maybe the higher priced rooms are nicer, but mine was spartan with a single bed, chair, rickety desk, college dorm fridge, and 13-inch t.v. The one shared bathroom could've been a problem, but fortunately only one or two of the other budget rooms in the wing was occupied.... more

Stayed for 10 days, partly for work, partly for leisure. It is a glorified hostel, rather than a hotel. HOwever, you can't beat the location. The rooms are cleaned, as are the shared bathroms everyday. The staff are friendly, however not particularly knowledgeable about the area [a fact I found worrying due to the location and having lived on the... more

You have an awesome place, people were very friendly, rooms, bathrooms etc. very very clean. The breakfast in the morning was fabulous. And the neighbourhood is awesome, just a hop, skip and a jump from... more

I stayed here at the beginning and end of a 3 month trip to Australia/NZ, and enjoyed it both times. The first stay was in a single economy room. Room was quite small, but still clean and comfortable. My only complaint was that it was right below the kitchen, and the staff begins preparations very early, so it was a... more

We got off the train at Milson's Point and trundled our rattling wheeled luggage along the dark, uneven footpaths for about 20 minutes, then hauled them up the steps to the Glenferrie Lodge office. Behind the desk was a girl peering at a computer to whom I said 'Hello' in a jovial fashion as we entered. When she didn't reply... more

We stayed one week night to see state of origin game in Sydney. We wanted 2 singles but none available so settled on a twin for $79 which included breakfast. The room was at top of stairs (3rd story) and had access from outside. We were lucky it wasn't raining otherwise we would have got wet. It was very clean... more
