Its difficult to know where to start, but from the minute you arrive at Stonehaven you feel at home such is the warm welcome from John and Paulette. The property is beautiful and in a fantastic location within a vineyard, everything you can think of is catered for. Breakfast is well worth getting up for and if you take up... more

Spotlessly clean, good-sized rooms with well-equipped en-suite. Our hosts (John & Paulette) were very welcoming, helpful and a great bank of knowledge for the Marlborough area and all things New Zealand. The homestay style of accommodation is ideal for interacting with owners and other guests. Breakfast was taken together and was excellent, often with the owner’s own produce. Paulette will... more

We stayed at Stonehaven Homestay for two nights in early December. All of the previous highly complimentary reviews are absolutely correct. John and Paulette were very friendly and hospitable. Paulette even gave us her muffin recipe and extra muffins for the road when we left. Breakfast was fabulous and made to order. Our room was spacious and comfortable with a... more

We stayed here for four days in November and can't praise it highly enough. The house is lovely in a fantastic setting among vines and with beautiful views - go for the King Room it has a small balcony with a gorgeous view. John and Paulette can't do enough to make you feel welcome - Paulettes cooking is excellent and... more

How do you write a review of the absolutely perfect place to stay?! Since we stayed with John and Paulette at their lovely home last year, Stonehaven has become our benchmark for what a B&B should be. We were blown away by the warmth of our welcome . . . we felt like we were being welcomed into the home... more

This is a wonderful B&B that I strongly recommend. If you're looking for a beautiful, quiet setting away from the noises of town, this is your place. Stonehaven is surrounded by grape vines and set far back from a small country road a few kilometers from Blenheim. We had arranged to have dinner but were running late. Fortunately, we were... more

This is a truly wonderful place. I've travelled extensively and I'm not prone to overstatement (blame my English reserve) but our stay with John and Paulette was a highlight of our superb 3-week trip to New Zealand. They are incredibly helpful, enormously knowledgable (what John doesn't know about the local moon-shine isn't worth knowing), unfailingly cheerful and all-round marvellous people.... more

Stonehaven is a little piece of heaven. I stayed here for 2 nights, in the twin room. John and Paulette are great, really good company and fantastic hosts. The house itself is fantastic, really beautiful and the views around the house are spectacular. It is perfectly situated to visit Blenheim, the wineries, Nelson and Picton. Breakfast was just amazing, i... more

My wife and I stayed with our daughter at Stonehaven on a last minute booking as we had an extra night that became free on our travels through NZ in Mar07. The hosts John and Paulette were brilliant. They gave us an outstanding welcome, including laying out all the wine grapes grown in the area for us to see. Their... more

After reading reviews on TripAdvisor of the Stonehaven Homestay, my friend and I decided it was the best place to book in the wine region near Blenheim. THANK YOU to all of you who steered us to this off-the-beaten-path gem! John and Paulette greated us warmly upon our arrival making sure to let us know that the Stonehaven is a... more
