We checked in the waikiki Joy for a weeks stay. I can't complain about the price and the location was awesome. It is n very short walking distance to everything you want to see in Waikiki. The rooms were clean and everything was as expected and looked like the pictures you see on the hotel website. Continental breakfast was just... more

We live in Honolulu and stayed at the Waikiki Joy for a weekend and loved it. There's a certain charm about the property that you can't find at most big hotel chains. Plus, you can't beat the location--it's only a block away from all the clubs and shopping and restaurants we wanted to visit. We booked an executive 1bdrm suite... more

We booked via our travelagent and reqested a twin room because of health problems. On 3 occasions before travelling I asked travel agent to check that it was a twin room not a double room we were to get we were assured even after our agent phoning United Vacations that we would be given a twin room When we arrived... more

We sincerely apologize for the difficulties experienced during your visit and want to take the opportunity to better explain the circumstances as they occurred. They certainly are not typical of our normal guest experience and the service we take pride in providing. Unfortunately, the reservation booked by United Vacations was for our Standard room category which only comes in a...

Hi, We found this Hotel on Trip Advisor, liked what we saw and booked it through our son-in-law, travel agent. Please bear in mind that this was 9 months ago, so our info here might be out of date and things may have changed. This hotel was the last stay on our once in a lifetime, around the world, indulgence... more

Before I booked the Suite in the Hibiscus Tower I mentioned to staff there that I did not wish to be within earshot of the Karaoke Bar (situated at the base of the Hibiscus Tower) which is open untill 05:00ish. Unfortunately the first Suite they put us in I could hear the music quite clearly. A move to the other... more

We loved the location of the Hotel and found the staff to be very helpful. We needed a Doctor the first night there and they were able to recommend one that was only a block from the Hotel.... We found the breakfast provided by the hotel to be all we needed.... The room was clean and ready when we arrived......Loved... more

We enjoyed our 2 night stay at this hotel. I'm giving it above average because the staff was very friendly and helpful, and the room was surprisingly clean. There were plenty of soft, big towels for us. Toto water-saver toilet that looked brand new. Staff at the desk was friendly and helpful assisting us with phone calls, maps, catching shuttles,... more

My husband and I stayed at the Waikiki Joy for 3 nights on our recent stay in Oahu. When I booked the room in August 2007 Trip Advisor had mainly good reviews, but as our departure date drew closer there were more negative and mixed reviews and I began to panic a bit that we'd made a poor choice. However,... more

We stayed here for 4 nights on our way home of the mainland. Our room was not ready when we arrived as check in is not until 3pm. We went and had lunch at The Cheescake Factory (a must place to eat) and when we came back our room was ready and we have been upgraded to one of the... more

The continental breakfast was quite good and generous. The hotel cleaners regularly changed the towels and cleaned the room. The majority of the staff were fair. However, the noise during the early hours of the morning was disturbing as it lasted until 5am sometimes. The noise was due to young hooligans screaming and shouting. Also, the trucks/buses often made noise... more

Aloha, and thank you for your review. During December, because of the hotel’s central location to the main shopping areas, restaurants, and night clubs in Waikiki, the hotel does experience some of the street celebrations, particularly leading up to New Year’s Eve. This is usually not a problem during the regular year. Fortunately, the hotel’s rooms are sound-proofed so if...
