Holiday stays are often difficult but I never worry about booking with the Ritz Carlton, until now. My family consists of 2 adults and a 12 and 14 year old. We arrived in San Juan a couple of days prior to a cruise. We arrived on Christmas night and it was very busy in the hotel. Our rooms were already... more

In San Juan, Puerto Rico, the Ritz is probably the best place to stay, but based on the reputation of the Ritz brand (and the cost), the experience was disappointing. From the dated rooms, to the house keeping staff screaming in the hallways early in the morning, to having to pray you get a lounge at the pool, and rediculously... more

This hotel while being a Ritz Carlton did not meet my expectations. What sets a great hotel apart from a good hotel are the things that you do not see but come up and surprise you. Maybe its the economy but all the "extras" you expect from A Ritz or Four Seasons were not there. The staff is very friendly... more

We stayed in the Ritz-Carlton for 5 nights during a recent vacation; the service was excellent (if somewhat spotty), but the overall experience was less than what we expected from a Ritz. We are frequent travelers and during the past 5 years we have taken 10 extended vacations and never had occasion to complain about anything; we're not easily ruffled,... more

At $700 a night including taxes including a resort charge for sunbeds! including breakfast I think this hotel should be a lot higher standard! The hotel public areas are superb - having enjoyed a drink here last year we decided to stay overnight before joinng Sea Dream Yacht Club in San Juan - the room are very tired and not... more

If I had the choice again, I would stay at the Marriott resort in Condado where I stayed in last visit. I stayed at the Ritz for two nights for business, and though I didn't utilize many of the services included in the resort fee, I was not overwhelmed and impressed with the hotel and rooms. It has beautiful grounds,... more

Stayed at the Ritz just for one night prior to flying over to St Maarten/St. Martin for more vacation time. Hotel is beautiful with lovely grounds, pool and hotel rooms. All amenities in the rooms are Bulgari. Check in went very quick and easy. It was later in the day but decided to get alittle sun before it set so... more

We stayed at the Ritz for one night precruise. From the check in to check out everything was great. The hotel bar had comfortable seating (couches & chairs), a welcoming atmosphere, warm lighting and entertainment, not to mention the mojito's & plantain chips were wonderful. The pool & beach were very clean and accomodating. The service on the beach was excellent,... more

For a business traveler, this hotel has some things to offer, namely: nice beds and bathrooms, proximity to the airport, decent in-house restaurants, an air of quasi-luxury, and a passable bar/lounge. With that in mind, memo to hotel execs: two things any business hotel absolutely must have are (1) easy access to Starbucks --FAIL-- and (2) wireless internet in every... more

I have "lurked" on this site for a couple of years, gleaning valuable insight for my own travels. But until now, I never joined or wrote a review of my own. I figured it's time I started carrying my share of the load, so here's my first TripAdvisor review. I traveled to San Juan with my wife in mid-November to... more
